POTP ALERT!!!! Da Weenies of Florida need our help!

Thursday!

It was heaven to have Anna Rose back home- she shadowed WHN and slept on her pillow!  Dad has been calling to talk with her and she licks the phone and wags her tail when she hears his voice.  Now, if she would only eat her breakfast!  She wolfed down her kibbly bits and canned last night but turned her nose up this morning.  WHN thinks it is the Vetri Liver that she has to take so she is going to leave it out of her dinner tonight.  Does anyone know of any good renal diets that WHN can cook for Anna so she will eat?  She is drinking a bit more, but licking her chops too- maybe some subcutaneous fluids will be in her near future-= tomorrow! The fluid is Lactate of Ringers, a favorite of Dr Bracket from the show Emergency (which Dad loves and now he and Anna Rose will be watching it together!) She will be getting 10 ccs of the ringers each time she has the fluid- the bag holds 100 cc WHN is staying home today- no pool, since she needs some Dachsie With Moxie time- she is going to set up her sewing machine and get some embroidery done!

She's Home!

Yes, the love of Max Da Odder Brudder's life, is safe and home!  Anna Rose is happy and her tail is wagging a mile a minute!  (Must be the chicken nuggets from BK- WHN cannot resist her big sad soulful eyes) WHN now knows how to administer subcutaneous fluids and Anna Rose will be receiving them every three days for the rest of her life. 

Wednesday- it's only Wednesday?

This has been a LONG week and it is only Wednesday!  Remember when we told you that Dad found us a house to rent?  Well, the owner went with someone else who had a terrible credit rating instead! (After putting the peeps through their paces of getting all the paperwork done in less than an hour on Monday!)  Then Dad looked at two more houses Monday night and found an even better one but now no word back, so tonight he and their realtor extraordinaire Kim are going to look at four more houses tonight.  Dad wants a huge basement- lots of room for trains and beer, and so he can hide Puddles when she gets into trouble.  ( A large basement means that BLogville will have its own clubhouse in the Midwest too!)

Then yesterday WHN had the rugs super dooper cleaned by Sears- and now we are banned from the upstairs and the den unless she is with us!  Guess she is afraid we might need to "mark" the occasion!   

Finally, WHN heard from the vet and Anna Rose's bloodwork was NOT good- her creatin and calcium levels are up too much so she rushed her to the vet for 24 hours of IV fluids to flush her kidneys before we move.  WHN will now be learning how to give them today so that Anna will be comfortable from now on- Anna Rose has not been in any pain as she was last year when this last occurred, but had been throwing up.  She will be coming home today around noonish.   WHN called to check on her last night and she had already improved- she was alert and watching what was going on while snoozing on her Daddy's bathrobe.  WHN didn't sleep a wink last night- no Anna Rose taking over her pillow and using her head as a head rest.  If anyone knows of a really good veterinarian in St Louis, please let WHN know!  Dad was shocked that his little angel got so sick so fast- hopefully it was due to the stress of the move and not due to her kidneys starting to get worse.

GOTCHA DAY! Tasha the Queen of the Urban Jungle

 One year ago today, the DWM (Ginger, Chip and Thai) travelled to the wilds of SE Pennsylvania to pick up a foster dachsie.  Unfortunately, the one to be fostered was adopted, but another remained- one look at Dad and she started jumping for joy and barking to get her little paws on him.  Dad obliged by putting a leash on her collar, and she leapt into his arms and licked his face (obviously he had not washed his face properly and she recognized this).  On the four hour car ride back home, Tasha quickly settled in with the DWm, enjoying McDonald's nuggets and behaving like a spoiled royal.  22 hours later, WHN was forced by the Dynamic Duo (Dad and Tasha) to call DRNA and admit that she had failed as a foster again and that Tasha was going no where.  Tasha has, in this past year, brought great joy to our lives and has been of great comfort to WHN since Ginger and then Thai left for the Rainbow Bridge.  She and her spiritual twin, Miss Lily Belle, share their Aunt Cindy (Blogville's World's Greatest Quilter) graciously.  Tasha has become Queen of our hearts, the Queen of the Unstuffed Stuffed Squeaky toys (star pupil at the Field Dressing Academy run by Ernie, Frankie's little brother).  She is the
Queen of the Urban Jungle and the neighborhood has learned to fear her roar as she announced that she is awake each and every morning.  Last, but not least, she is the beloved sweetheart of Shiloh, from Team Beaglebratz, and is already planning her first trip to Kansas to see him (right after she figures out how to get back to her BFF, Miss Cindy!) Tasha, Happy Gotcha Day baby doll!!!

Dad, updated- UPDATED WITH PHOTOS

Dad was busy, busy, busy this weekend.  Saturday he looked at 8 houses and found the perfect house to rent for us!  It has a dishwasher, which is what WHN wanted, and the basement is huge- has a laundry room and two largish store rooms- Dad gets to keep his train stuff in one while the rest of the stuff goes in the other (decorations and the like)  Then he has the rest of the basement for his layout!  It has three bedrooms and hardwood floors in every room, except the kitchen which has tile.  Dad has to buy WHN a washer and dryer, but that is ok with her. the yard is not fenced but we will be on a cul de sac so we aren't worried!  IF Dad can get the lease signed this week- he will move in next weekend- buy an Aero bed and an HD tv so he can watch cable, and a microwave so he can "cook"- then he will come back here to get us!

Anna Rose misses her Daddy terribly- she eats her meals, but turns her nose up at her bed time treats and then early in the morning starts to get sick- nothing usually comes up, but WHN is worried.  So off to the vet we will go this morning!  Tomorrow Sears comes to steam clean the rugs and then we get to wait!   

BTW- rumor has it that Puddles the Great will be on vacation this week- no blogging!  WE heard that she will be hanging out with Dad while her peeps are away- whatever will they do?

Dad

Dad is settling in very nicely in St Louis- he has been using the pool at night and his first day at work went great!  (We think that he is so happy because PUDDLES is there to help "inventory" the breweries with him!)  St Louis was very hot and muggy yesterday and he expects it to be so today!  He received a company car and says the traffic reminds him of New Jersey!  He loves the St Louis style pizza but misses us even more.  Anna Rose is lost without her Daddy and spends the day next to the front door, waiting for him to come home.  WHN went swimming yesterday and then finished painting the porch- today she has to contend with the third moving company, to get an estimate for Dad,  and mail Dad the GPS for his new car.  Then she is going to pack up the linen closet and the bathroom, before giving it a good scrub down!  WHN and Dad are probably going to rent a townhouse so our stuff can go straight there instead of going into storage while the house in Ohio sells.  Pray that it sells quickly!

Meet Me In St Louis!

Well, they did it- cleared out the crawl space and dismantled the train layout (the latter took three days!)  Dad left this morning after Mass, and is now residing at the La Quinta Inns and Suites (the one with the pool) near the airport.  He is checked in and has already had a swim- next PIZZA! WHN is twitching right now- too much soda probably!  She spent the day (wasted, more likely) getting her new phone set up- her Blackberry gave up the ghost last night and Dad did not want her without a cell phone while he was out gallivanting with Puddles at the breweries in St. Louis.  WHN is now the proud owner of an iPhone!

Now she gets to clean the house from top to bottom while waiting for the movers!

For the Love of Thai, The Thai Master

 The Thai Master is home- WHN brought his remains home on 2 July (which is Chips' birthday)  His paw print charm has been ordered and will probably be mailed to St Louis.  WHN decided to keep him with us always, so that he and Ginger are never separated.  We wanted to publish the last photos of His Majesty, the Thai Master, as well as the gorgeous tribute from Alasandra, the Cats and a Dog blog.  On 24 June 2012, the DWM attended the Medina, OH Rainbow Bridge Walk, in honor of Ginger.  The peeps were yellow shirts and WHN made photo holders (each peep was asked to wear a photo of their Rainbow Bridge angel).  Our bestest friend and Vet, Dr. Kelly Parker, was involved with this event and we got to see her off duty!  Also present was our other bestest friend, Miss Sandy, who works for Dr. Parker and lives right around the corner from us!  Deacon Joe from St Francis Xavier (our parish) blessed the furry ones and all of the DWM were blessed with holy water.  As you can see, His Majesty enjoyed himself.  We hope that you enjoy these photos of our tough guy.

For Love of Blogville and Puddles, St Louis, MO Edition

We the Dachsies With Moxie, would like to thank everyone in Blogville for their best wishes for our Dad and WHN as we get ready to move to St Louis, MO.  We apologize for having to bail on hosting our two Olympic events, but thankfully Corbin has agreed to handle one of them in our stead.  So, to make up for this breach of etiquette, we will be hosting the inaugural Blogville and Puddles- a-thon when we are settled in our new home-  (hopefully it won't take 87 years to sell our house in OH- plese pray for us that it doesn't)  First up- the location- the Anheuser Busch Welcome Center has already been reserved!  The Clydesdales have been put on notice and their welcome wagon is being readied for Blogville!  Last phot shows the beer factory- will this be enough Bud Light for our Governor?  Will we need to arrange for other factories to be available?  Next up, we need to find chandeliers!  The

PUDDLES ALERT!

Thank you BLogville!  Yes, life for the DWM has been turned upside down and every which way the last couple of months!  We apologize for having to cancel our corporate sponsorship of two Olympic Events, BUTTT we will be making it up to each and every one of you! As Blogville knows, Puddles is our discerning leader when it comes to adult beverages, so as we will soon be living in St. Louis, the home of Anheuser Busch, maker of BUD LIGHT, we will be throwing a party to celebrate Blogville from their factory! (The company has been notified already that Puddles will be coming to "inspect") Yes, we the DWM are asking all of Blogville to meet us in St. Louis, date tbd, but come anyway!  Who wants to miss the opportunity to see Puddles "inspecting" a beer factory?  Not us!

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

The Thai Master is home

Yesterday afternoon, WHN brought home The Thai Master's ashes.  Dad got the call while the pack was working on their napping and WHN went by herself to bring her tough guy home for the final time.  As with Ginger, she also had  a pawprint done which will become a necklace charm, and a small envelope of his fur.  Thai is safe with Ginger oon WHN's bedroom dresser.  Miss marcia had asked if he could be buried at her farm and we agreed- that will probably occur next week.
